Try the stripped-down free version in-browser on Itch.io. $7.999 unlocks the full chaotic feature set! Delivered as a standalone HTML file — fully offline and compatible across platforms. On iPhone, I recommend using Microsoft Edge.

Bend the world. Splash the chaos. Break the machine and make something beautiful.

Bucket Bender is a neon-glitch playground for artists, weirdos, and chaos dabblers. Inspired by old-school pattern fills — then cranked through a blender. Load your own images and textures, or generate complex, noisy gradients directly inside the app. Then:

  • Sculpt Your Patterns: Scale, rotate, skew, hue-shift, jitter, or Fit the pattern flush to the canvas before it lands.
  • Brush It, Splash It, Melt It: Tap to fill, drag with a brush, or flood-fill using tolerance-based selection. Feather your fills for smooth edges or crank it for crunchy weirdness.
  • Chaos Mode: One toggle randomizes scale, rotation, skew, blend mode, and more — perfect for generative experimentation or happy accidents.
  • Multi-Pattern Cycling: Load up to 10 patterns, switch manually, or automatically cycle through them mid-stroke.
  • Batch Animation: Morph procedural gradients or unleash per-frame flood-fills on any loaded image, then export every frame as a ready-to-loop ZIP.
  • Shuffle Mode: Save up to 5 different image states, then blend them together at random to create unexpected layered chaos.
  • Mask & Control: Fine-tune fills using tolerance, brightness masking (avoid dark/light areas), and channel masking (limit to red, green, blue, or alpha).
  • Gradient Generator: Create base images or patterns with built-in gradient noise tools, now with resolution options up to 4096 px and seamless animation support.
  • Bake & Mutate: Freeze your creation as a new base, blur it, and keep pushing it further.

Built with a tech-psychedelic, circuit-bent aesthetic, Bucket Bender is designed to feel fast, strange, and a little bit out of control. Collapsible panels declutter the interface, and a sticky action bar keeps key buttons one thumb away. It’s a tool that celebrates imperfection, layering, and the joy of not knowing what comes next.

Core Features:

  • Undo/Redo support (up to 5 steps)
  • Export clean PNGs — or full Animation ZIPs (frames ready for GIF/video—you can upload the zip itself to EZgif!)
  • Tap-to-fill with live Magnifier view
  • Fully adjustable brush/fill tools
  • Pattern transforms: Hue, Saturation, Scale, Rotation, Skew, Jitter, Fit
  • Gradient generator for bases or patterns, plus seamless gradient loops
  • Per-frame Simulate Fills, Fill-Until-Coverage %, and Randomize Animation controls
  • Dozens of blend modes: classic + experimental chaos like “Stapler,” “Fractured Prism,” “Bitplane,” and more
  • Mobile-friendly UI with collapsible sections and a sticky bottom bar

Bucket Bender™ — made by an artist, not a corporation.

This has been a full-on glitchy labor of love. I’ve tested it extensively, but if you run into bugs, performance hiccups, or compatibility weirdness, feel free to reach out — I’m actively updating and improving it all the time. Feature requests and strange ideas welcome.

(Parts of the code were assisted by AI as a tool — but every feature, every glitch, every chaotic design choice was shaped by a real human glitch artist who believes mutation is the soul of creativity.)
