Huemancer Launch: Not your grandpa’s hue shifter!

Alright, it’s finally here.

After weeks of wrangling sliders, glitching pixels, and yelling at JavaScript, Huemancer is officially out in the wild. It’s a hue-shifting animation tool that runs entirely in your browser—no installs, no accounts, just pure color chaos.

You drop in an image, and Huemancer lets you generate perfectly looping hue cycles with all kinds of strange control. Want a chill randomizer? Simple Mode’s got you. Want full control over color shift speed, spatial banding, and wave interference patterns? That’s what Advanced Mode is for.

What it does:

  • Simple Mode: Upload, press the dice button, and watch the magic happen.
  • Advanced Mode: Pick your speed modes (lightness, hue, saturation, etc.), adjust banding and cycle shaping, add weird waveforms, and push edges into overdrive.
  • Perfect looping: Every animation loops seamlessly—frame count is fully adjustable.
  • Export: Grab a ZIP of PNGs or a full animated GIF, whatever works best for your workflow.

Runs in any modern browser. Works great on desktop. For mobile, you’ll need to use Microsoft Edge on iOS (Safari blocks local HTML files).

Why make this?

I wanted something that felt like a glitchy color ritual. A tool that could shift light around an image in beautiful or ridiculous ways. Something that gave you control when you want it—and surprises when you don’t. Most importantly, there was a severe lack of mobile hue shifting solutions that looped perfectly. And none that I could find offered this level of control.

What’s next? Maybe LUT-based distortion, maybe batch processing, maybe sound-reactive visuals. We’ll see.

For now—drop in an image, hit play, and shift some hues.
